On a typical day as a Ward Host you can expect to take part in the preparation and service of meals, , carry out cleaning responsibilities and communicate with numerous patients, members of the public and other staff of all levels. This role will also cover the catering outlets at Heatherwood Hospital, including our staff restaurant and Caf Glade, undertaking cashier duties, assist with deliveries and quality assurance and stock control The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to work hard as part of team, as well as confident to carry out individual duties. You will be interacting with a high number of patients each day, playing a vital part in making their stay as comfortable as possible and raising spirits with a friendly and compassionate service. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to adhere to departmental standards and food hygiene regulations.
You will also act at all times in a manner that upholds the Trusts values, working as part of a team to ensure efficiency and excellent customer care. Catering experience is desirable along with a certificate in food safety though this is not essential, as full training will be given.
